#advent2012 blog 11 – Warhorses of Letters

I love Warhorses of Letters. (radio 4 website page)
It is lovely. It made me laugh. It made me shout yes when a foolish proposal was accepted.
It is very funny.

In case you missed the first serious Warhorses of Letters is a comedy series and book on radio4. biilling itself as a gay, equine, military, epistolary romance for the ages. The series is set against the back ground of archeologists have discovering the romantic correspondence between two of history’s most important horses: Marengo, (the seasoned, famous and just-a-little-bit-short mount of Emperor Napoleon) and Copenhagen (the frisky young racehorse who as our story begins is about to be the new mount for the Duke of Wellington). Warhorses of Letters stars Stephen Fry as Marengo and Daniel Rigby stars alongside him as Copenhagen.

It is a beautiful tale of love, wars & small asides. It is on at 11pm, so not for full family entertainment but, very, very good.
